Team and board
NerdyADHD.org is a small organization doing large work. Here is who is doing it.
Dr. Benjamin J. Royer — Founder and Principal Director
Dr. Royer holds a PhD in Human Ecology from Cornell University. He has ADHD. He has advanced heart failure and has been listed for a heart transplant. He has been tethered to a home IV milrinone pump while trying to maintain a functioning professional life in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
His academic background spans regulatory analysis, technology policy, social capital theory, and disability studies. His advocacy identity is grounded in the recognition that the systems neurodivergent people navigate were not designed for them — and that the gap between what the law promises and what people actually experience is not inevitable.
He is a presenter at the 2026 ADDA Annual Conference (Baltimore). His conference session, “Not Appropriate”: AI, ADHD, and Your Disability Rights, addresses the legal and clinical framework for AI use as a protected disability accommodation.
Teaching, for him, is not a credential. It is survival — and the decision no one else should feel alone. We are better together.
Advisory board
NerdyADHD.org is building an advisory board of clinicians, disability rights attorneys, healthcare navigators, and community members with lived ADHD experience. Advisors contribute to research review, policy positions, and community programming.
